Course begins Monday, February 24th, 2025.
Instructor: McKenna Sheehan
This course offers new students a 6 week introduction to the potter’s wheel. Participants will experience basic methods of centering clay, forming cylinder and pottery bowl forms, trimming and adding handles. Students will also learn how to finish their pots using standard decorating and glazing techniques. This class is for students with no prior pottery wheel experience, all are welcome.
Course fee includes unlimited practice clay, use of all community tools and equipment, studio glazes made in-house, bisque firing and glaze firing. Students may fire and keep up to 10lb fired clay per class. Open studios on Saturdays until 6pm are also included for students currently enrolled in a class.
