Course Description:
Raku Firing Workshop and Class
This three-day workshop at the historic Bridgeport Art Center will include two three-hour classes on the wheel and one full day of Raku firing your wares. You will learn throwing techniques, surface techniques, underglazes, glazes and the class will be taught by Jay Strommen. The full day of Raku firing will be choreographed by Carl Mankert of Chicago Kiln Services.
Class includes 25lbs of clay, underglazes, glazes and firing.
Sept Classes are Sat 16th & 23rd (class room 6-9 pm) and Sat, Oct 7th (outdoor firing at BAC). You must have taken a wheel class prior to registering for our Raku workshop.
